The iPad versions are different to the desktop version, The iPad version uses a different file format which produces smaller file sizes allowing them to run smoothly on iOS. The desktop version uses a high resolution texture file wrapped around the scan. Meshlab for iOS currently does not support image based textures so the point cloud and faces are coloured instead, this also reduces file size, but also reduces the level of colour (texture) detail. The images below show the difference - the ipad version is on the left.
